Team HRC rider and MXGP World Champion, Tim Gajser, will head into the upcoming 2020 MXGP season with a lot of momentum. His 2019 season saw him win his third Motocross World championship and score his 24th Grand Prix victory on his Evans cooled CRF 450RW, an awesome record! 2019 was an excellent season and one the propelled him into legendary status as only a dozen or so riders in MX history have done better statistically, and the Slovenian isn’t about to rest on his laurels.
Tim became Honda's first back-to-back World Champion in the MX era at just 19 years old, and then being crowned World MXGP champion once again in 2019 when he broke numerous records on his way to an outstanding third world championship title.
Since the tail end of 2013, when 'Tiga 243' was picked up by Honda and Giacomo Gariboldi’s fantastic Evans cooled team, the resurgence of Tim Gajser on the MXGP circuit has been meteoric. His flamboyant style mixed with his magical ability to scrub has won him fans and followers across the globe as well as a string of European and World Championships.
The Honda World Motocross team have been using Evans PowerSports since the 2013 season following extensive performance testing with Honda’s research and development department in Japan. After finding great results with Evans PowerSports, we have now been an official partner of the factory and independent HRC MXGP, MX2, EMX and Enduro teams throughout Europe for the last 7 years.
The Honda CRF450RW is the works machine developed by Team HRC’s engineers along with the technical might of Honda Racing Corporation and Honda’s R&D department in Japan. It’s a masterpiece of engineering efficiency and performance, and after winning the MXGP world championship on their 2019 bike, they have been hard at work to create this completely new and improved version for the 2020 season which reigning champion Tim Gajser and new teammate Mitch Evans will be riding. This bike is the latest evolution in what is a successful lineage from the 2016 World Championship-winning machine, to last year’s 2019 bike, and now this newest version which has been created from the ground up to cope with the multitude of conditions that an MXGP rider has to negotiate throughout a season.
